Granola
Ingredients
- 2 & 1/2 cup old-fashioned raw oats
- 1/2 cup brown, unhulled, sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup pine nuts
- 1/2 cup almonds, chopped
- 1 & 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/2 cup canola or soybean oil
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon cloves
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup yellow (or black) raisins
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Mix oats, seeds, and nuts in a large bowl.
- Combine remaining ingredients, except for raisins, mix, and heat for 1-2 minutes
in microwave, or until the honey is hot & watery; mix well until salt is completely
dissolved. Toss liquid mixture with dry ingredients.
- Spray two cookie sheets or large pans with Pam or a canola oil spray (optional).
Spread granola and bake at 325 degrees about 25 minutes, stirring after 15
minutes, until golden brown. It is done when a walnut piece tastes nicely
toasted. Add raisins, and toss occasionally until cool and dry.
